Don't forget we now run Home Games
The "Best Poker League" (British Poker Awards) is pleased to announce the launch of Home/Private games which give you the opportunity to stage your own games, with friends and family, whether in the comfort of your own home, or elsewhere and still give you the chance to participate in our end of season and National events, where Big Cash Prizes can be won.
Our Seasons run 3 monthly 1st Jan – 31st March 1st Apr – 30th June 1st July – 30 Sept 1st Oct – 31st Dec
Players receive points in relation to their finishing position at each event, which are accumulated and entered onto your very own league table. At the end of each season the top 25% of players (maximum of 5) from your league table will qualify for an end of season Tournament along with the other qualifiers from each Home/Private & Pub league attending this Tournament.
It is not compulsory to purchase equipment from us, so if you already have poker equipment, it is fine to use. If not, we can supply your requirements at competitive prices, via our on-line shop.
As these are Home/Private games, only the players that you would like to invite will be able to participate as no Address or telephone contact details will be displayed on the website. You are also able to play for whatever stakes you choose, and a minimum of 6 games needs to be held for players to qualify for the end of season Final. There is no fixed term or contract for this service
This is another first for the UK and we hope that you like the format, with The Nuts Poker League leading the way yet again. Not for the first time, just watch others with no imagination jump once again onto The Nuts bandwagon.
Well done to Rich Simmonds from Telford and Rich Brookfield from Wrexham who finished 1st and 2nd in the monthly £2000 added tournament at Stoke Casino on Sunday 3rd April. Both won thier seat to the game in last seasons regional events.
103 players started. When it got to the last 5 remaining they all agreed to split the pot = £2000 each. The casino did a chip count at that time, just to establish 1st – 5th positions
Rich Brookfield was in 1st place and Rich Simmonds was 2nd.
Well done to both of you.

More Delighted Nuts players have lived the dream and can take their
place in the Royal Flush Hall of Fame.
THE NUTS - The term originated from the historical poker games in the colonial west of America, where if a player bet everything he possessed, he would place the nuts of his wagon wheels on the table to ensure that, should he lose, he would be unable to flee and would have to make good on the bet. Since it would be expected that a player would only make such a bet when he had the best possible hand, this is how the best possible hand came to be known as "The Nuts".
Scott Brown, hit the nuts in hearts at the Galloway Arms Hotel, on Monday 4th April 2011
On Tuesday 29th March at the Willows, St. Mellons, Daniel Brett took down a pot with a declared flush. The rest of the table pointed out that it was actually a Royal Flush
Persia Edwards got a Royal Flush at the Ale House Monday 4th of April and went on to win the tournament.
Congratulations to Ken Jackson who hit a diamond Royal Flush in the Shrimper, Southport 10/04/2011. There's something fishy going on at the Shrimper as this is the first Royal at the venue in over 2 years.
Congratulations to Dave Tew-Weaver who hit The Nuts at Woody's Bar.
Congratulations (again) to Taff Baker who hits another Royal flush at the Crown Hotel in Colne on Tuesday 3rd May 2011.
